"So, who is he anyway?"
He has studied music under Emmy Award winning and Academy Award nominated composers such as Gerald Fried (Roots, Roots: The Next Generation, Star Trek, Napoleon and Josephine) Thom Sharp (When Harry Met Sally, City Slickers, Aladdin, Little Mermaid) Jerry Grant (Quantum Leap, Hired to Kill, Hunter) and composition under Dr. Russel Steinberg one of America's leading Neo-Classical composers and performers.
He was the study for Ed Solomon's (Men in Black, Charlie's Angels, Imagine That) character Miles Evans for which Morgan Freeman played in the 2003 film Levity. He has been the subject an original autobiographical television pilot written by Jeff Fiskin (Cutter's Way, Revenge, The 60's, The 70's) and produced by Linda Obst (Adventures in Babysitting, Sleepless in Seattle, Contact) called Homeboys dealing with the care and nurturing of hardened gang members and student dropouts in Watts and south central Los Angeles. James has been featured in many articles and television programs dealing with youth-at-risk and gang intervention.
All the while James was writing, directing plays, producing, composing music, writing musicals and going to film school on his spare time - in between commuting 150 miles a day from Palmdale, California to Compton California to teach alternative school education each morning. He has been directly or indirectly involved in the entertainment industry for over 25 years.
